SPOKANE, WA The Tri-City Dust Devils used a strong outing by pitcher Ethan Katz and the bat of first baseman Jeff Kindel to escape the heat at Avista Stadium with a 10-7 victory. Spokane did mount a comeback in the bottom of the ninth with three runs, but a simple groundout ended the night for the Indians.

Chris Davis singled to left for another RBI, and then the Dust Devils George Delgado walked in the Indians final run as centerfielder
Grant Gerrard would ground into a force play to end the game.
Spokanes starting pitcher
Brett Zamzow had a solid outing in four innings, giving up only one earned run and striking out three. However, relief pitching would allow seven more runs and provide a deficit that just couldnt be overcome.
Indians catcher
Chad Tracy continued his excellence at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a home run. And Davis continued to improve his batting average after his three home-run symphony yesterday with a 2 for 5 performance that drove in two runs.
